I thought this was interesting. Notice a 45 person increase between 1950 and 1970! And the high of 907 in 1860 just prior to the Civil War.

I wonder how the household size has changed. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of houses has quadrupled in that time.
I was thinking this too. Also, the difference between then and now is that many families use to live on Bremen Long Island year round. Today its only a summer colony. Same could be said about today, half of the housing stock seems to be seasonal.
